Maggie the Counting Dog

Did anyone see Maggie on Oprah Thursday? I was BLOWN AWAY! In Maria's words, "I was freaking out!" This dog can add, subtract, multiply, and divide. I was laughing out of total awe. I love this dog and I want one like her. She's so amazing! Here's the video on You Tube if you didn't see it. I think it's the second video link on the left...the Oprah one.

I am a dog person. I like cats OK, but dogs are just more my style. We had a dog, Sophie, who was a stray we adopted on the Rez. She was such a fun companion! But sadly she was put to sleep. Sometimes I miss her, but I'm also glad that we don't have pets right now just because we've continued to move a couple times. We'll probably get another dog one day when we're not renting.

    I did not see the show, but I've got it recorded if I ever get a spare minute. That's why I'm on the computer at midnight. Crazy woman! I do say, "I was freaking out" all the time. I didn't realize I was quotable! Funny!

    Sorry I haven't called you. I did get your message, but haven't returned the call yet. I really want to get your craft and FHE ideas from you. I've been painting the basement during any spare minutes because it looks like Justin might be able to bring the desk he built us down this weekend instead of in three weeks. Now I have no more time to put off the dreaded work in the dungeon. It's got to be done whether I like it or not. I'm not holding my breath in case they don't come down after all, but had to get a bunch of stuff done just in case. Call me tomorrow though if you get a chance. I just have to take Dylan to preschool in the afternoon, but we should be around in the morning. We checked out a bunch of dinosaur books from the library tonight so I'm guessing we'll be reading about dinosaurs and doing leaf tracings all morning (we had to gather a bunch of leaves as part of Dylan's homework and I want to show him how you can trace them on paper with crayons before he takes them all to school). His teacher is awesome! She has the cutes ideas ever! Anyway, if you have time, just call me tomorrow. I can't wait to hear what you found.

Almost To the Home Stretch

Here I am at around 30 weeks or so. I can't remember exactly when Greg took these pictures. It's hard to believe that I only have six weeks and five days to go before this little buddy will make his entrance into the world. I'm excited and nervous. I'm doing really great still. I think, after talking to Sarah today, that I'm probably having some Braxton-Hicks contractions but didn't really realize it. I'll have to start paying closer attention. Gotta love Zantac! Can you see that baby bump?

Man! Full body shots are not at all my fave. I have to do a better pose next time where Greg's not looking up at me while laying on the couch. That's always been like my least favorite camera angle. But can you see that little belly showing? This is 17 and a half weeks. My waist is disappearing and it for sure seems like my already well-endowed bust line has expanded! I'm just trying to take it all in stride even though it's sort-of weird that your body isn't your own anymore in some ways. But I think it's totally awesome that my body is designed for this. Go women! Every day I really feel like it's a miracle that I'm even having a baby. That's such a cool blessing that I wondered if I'd have, and now it's happening, and it's really surreal at times, but totally awesome, too. Half Way There

Wow! I can't believe it's been 20 weeks already. That's halfway, right? I have had a terrific pregnancy so far. I have some of the common "aches and pains" but have done really well. It's awesome. I will have to post another picture again soon, because this bump is getting harder and harder to hide. Sometimes I feel a little self-conscious about it in a way, but I think I need to embrace it more and not try to hold it in! (Not that I do or can anyway!) The best thing lately is feeling the baby move more and more and knowing that's what I'm feeling. I totally notice movement after eating, and also sometimes when I play the organ. I think it's just louder so the baby can hear it and reacts a little. It will be fun to see if that continues and let's all pray they get Greg's awesome singing voice! We went to a movie last night, and the baby was really moving during that. Probably because it's so loud in the theater. A week or so...
