Snow Canyon Parkway

Since our blog is "What's up Down South" (which, incidentally, will still work for us in Provo!) I thought I would share a few photos of what really is up down south.

St. George is beautiful! I have really loved the weather this spring and there's just something amazing about desert flora a fauna. It's so diverse and it's amazing to see it thrive in the heat of the desert.

Greg and I like to take bike rides — did one this morning in fact — and one of the roads we go on is called Snow Canyon Parkway. It has a paved biking/walking trail (as much of St. George does, and I will say their trail system is awesome) and it is probably the prettiest stretch of "city" road that Greg and I have seen.

One day we were out riding, and we noticed these beautiful flowering cacti at the entrance to one of the many gated communities along the parkway. We stopped and talked to the grounds keeper about it, and he said it's this special type of cactus that only flowers once a year in the evening/night. We thought it was so beautiful that after our ride, we drove back to the spot in the car to take some photos. Here they are for you to enjoy!
