Embry is Still Good
Greg and I call our little embryo, 'Embry.' We had an ultrasound last week and everything still looked great. It was a regular abdominal ultrasound, so not as detailed as I've gotten used to! But you could still see that there is still a baby growing in there. It's so weird to me sometimes because I've been so blessed not to be really sick or anything. And, I'm now off of the progesterone, so that's probably going to help me feel even better I hope!
Here's some pregnancy stuff that I've noticed that I'm sure all the moms can relate to:
In my last post I mentioned that it's been sort-of hard to have everyone so involved, but that it's also been a blessing. Mostly it really is a blessing! And, the farther along I get, the more excited I am that our little embry is the "community baby." Seriously. Everyone in our family is so excited and also our ward and even people in our city...like a lady we sing with in the Nebo Chorale. It's sort-of fun to have everyone so involved. I actually am pretty excited about how happy everyone is for us and how this baby will be such a spoiled thing. It's great that everyone cares so much!
Here's some pregnancy stuff that I've noticed that I'm sure all the moms can relate to:
- One day I craved refried beans for lunch. Just the beans. No tortilla. No cheese. No chips. Just plain ol' beans warmed up! Funny lunch, but at the time it hit the spot.
- Smells are weird to me now. Even stuff that I thought used to smell good, sometimes bothers me. (It's been weird to experience all of this after hearing others talk about it. You never fully understand until you're the one experiencing it.)
- Right at first I had lots of ligament pain. Especially on the lower left. That seems much better now. I also had one night of sciatic nerve pain. Weird that I would get that so soon. Luckily a little heat and rest helped.
- The moodiness/irritability. I seem to be getting better with this (I hope!) It seems like it was worse right at first, and maybe even worse before I was even pregnant because it was just a stressful time of our life.
- The lovely feeling of clothes starting to seem a little tight. It's not bad yet, but some days you just want to wear your jeans unbuttoned!
- My tiredness seems to have subsided, too. Or maybe I'm used to it.
- Nighttime trips to the bathroom.

I'm so glad things are going well. I continue to pray for you and am so glad that you are not too sick, you deserve to have a great pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you Lisa! Take good care of yourself - don't O.D. on beans!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that Embry is still doing well. That's a cute little nickname for him/her! :) And yeah, I'm glad you can relate to some of the pregnancy nuances now. They really are difficult to understand until you've been there. But I'm glad for your sake you can't relate to the puking every day part. That's one I would prefer to have take others' word on. :)
ReplyDeleteJen says the same thing...nothing about her pregnancies is ever secret. Everyone is there for every step. I think at times that is hard. I am just so happy for you. Good luck with everything. The second trimester is the best of all.
